Celestia borders on other realms of existence and the wars of previous ages that has blurred the lines considerably. Things like Teleportation or creating portals portals tap into another plane of existence typically known as the Astral Plane or sometimes known as the Ethereal Realm. This plane permeates Celestia and is often called the ‘border realm’ if entered from within Celestia. Few magic wielders are powerful enough to visit the plane directly, while awake anyways. The Astral is often called the ‘realm of the mind’ because force of will can actually manipulate the foggy material most of the plane is made of. Direction and motion is meaningless as space doesn’t have meaning here.

Within the Astral Plane not directly linked to Celestia are other realms. This includes the Realms of the Gods, both ‘good’ and ‘evil’. Each one having their own realm. Also here is the realm often known as the ‘Fey Wild’ which is inhabited by the Fey, though their realms are a loosely connected network of somewhat solid always shifting realms that are hostile to most more conventional entities. It also connects to another realm known as the Shadow Realm,, which is a pit of pure darkness few have made it out of. Hundreds of smaller realms also dot the landscape.

It also offers the ability to travel even further to other dimensions, though no one from Celestia has done this since the Ashuri. Or at least any who have never return.
